Julie Chen, MD

Dr. Chen graduated Summa Cum Laude, Provost Scholar, and Alpha Omega Alpha from the Rochester Early Medical Scholars combined B.A.-M.D. degree program at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York with a Bachelors in Public Health and a Doctorate in Medicine with Distinction in Research.

Dr. Chen has received multiple awards in her training from Foundations such as the American Medical Women's Association and American Academy of Dermatology. As an Internal Medicine Resident at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California, Dr. Chen was asked to be a Chief Resident and continued to receive accolades in her clinical research by the American College of Physicians.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has received formal training in Integrative Medicine by the University of Arizona, Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Chen has also trained with Helms Medical Institute for Medical Acupuncture for Physicians. Her additional formal training includes clinical hypnotherapy, strain-counterstrain osteopathic manipulations, and heart-rate variability biofeedback.

Dr. Chen is committed to promoting integrative and preventative health care.  She believes that early intervention before disease occurs is of the utmost importance in health care and that elimination of disease-promoting factors in a person's life is essential for disease prevention and chronic disease management.  She believes in optimizing total mind-body health in order to decrease medication dependence and prevent escalation of medication dosages.

Dr. Chen is bilingual with fluency in conversational Mandarin and English.
